Import Production Manager - Denim

Our client is a fast-growing Los Angeles-based wholesale denim brand. They seek a highly organized and experienced Import Production Manager to take ownership of its overseas production operations. This is a unique opportunity to make your mark in a high-growth, high-SKU wholesale brand ready to elevate its operations with your leadership.

This role will be the key point of contact between internal teams and overseas vendors. You’ll own production calendars, troubleshoot issues, and meet delivery timelines without compromising quality or cost. With a clear understanding of overseas factory operations and timelines, you’ll be expected to lead and keep things moving precisely and confidently. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all overseas production — primarily in China and Vietnam

  • Own and maintain the full production calendar

  • Coordinate with design, tech, and sourcing teams to ensure alignment

  • Track orders and timelines from development through delivery

  • Troubleshoot issues related to factory delays, materials, and workflow

  • Serve as a key liaison with factory partners, pushing back when necessary

  • Assist in fabric sourcing (mainly China-based mills)

  • Supervise and mentor 1–2 production assistants

  • Organize production tracking using Excel

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5–10+ years of production experience in the fashion/apparel industry – Denim is essential.

  • Strong experience with import production (mandatory)

  • Prior experience working with factories in China and/or Vietnam

  • Strong communicator — able to manage cross-functional expectations and personalities

  • Must be organized, proactive, and confident in pushing back on delays

  • Proficiency in Excel required

  • In office Monday - Friday
