Senior Fabric Manager

We’re looking for a Senior Manager of Fabric. This person must identify key elements that make the high-end quality compelling and propose an approach that will execute beautifully in the contemporary market. The ideal person must have hands-on experience with various mills internationally, be able to communicate this clearly to the mills and present fresh and exciting options for the selection process. This includes sourcing, purchasing, and managing relationships with fabric mills. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the fabric industry and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

In office full time in LA--OR fully remote based in NYC for a mill wizard

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Sourcing and purchasing fabric from suppliers

• Managing relationships with fabric mills

• Developing and implementing fabric specifications

• Ensuring that fabric meets quality standards

• Managing the fabric inventory

• Providing feedback to designers on fabric options

• Working with other departments to ensure that fabric needs are met

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Textiles, Fashion, or a related field

• 5+ years of experience in the fabric industry with a minimum of 10 years of apparel experience

• Strong understanding of fabric mills and the fabric-sourcing process

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proactive and results-oriented

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
