Have you met Mackenzie? As Sr. Recruiting Manager, Mackenzie works alongside PRTNR Recruiting founder Jamie, connecting the best to the best in fashion. But her story (and PRTNR Recruiting's story…) goes a little further back than that.

Mackenzie and Jamie first crossed paths in the fashion industry in 2015. Like good recruiters, they always kept in touch. Every time they got together, they found themselves finishing each other's sentences, perpetually on the same page. In 2019, they started working at an agency together and thought, “This is it!"  

But then, COVID brought the industry to a screeching halt. Companies weren't hiring. Roles were drying up. But Mackenzie and Jamie forged ahead. They kept reaching out. They continued connecting. They were able to have honest conversations with talent at all levels, including C-Suite Executives executives they could never get on the phone with before. They got to know them and their hiring needs and pick their brains about the changes that were happening in the industry.

And then came an idea: “What if we started our own agency?”

Mackenzie and Jamie moved quickly, deciding on their branding elements, crafting a mission statement, and working alongside ECOM Department to design the website. They knew that companies would be ready to hire again soon, and we were ready to open for business by spring 2021.

PRTNR Recruiting launched in March and immediately started filling roles across the industry. Because of the relationships Mackenzie and Jamie built and maintained during COVID, starting and growing the business was relatively easy.

Now, PRTNR Recruiting has expanded into New York and Europe, with carefully selected recruiters working together to help candidates find their dream jobs.

What's next? “We never want to be too big," Mackenzie and Jamie say. “We want to grow when the right people come along.”
